POLICE are urging residents to step-up their home security after Great Yarmouth was hit by a number of walk-in burglaries in recent weeks.

Officers arrested and charged two men in connection with incidents at Ormesby and Hemsby but are continuing to urge residents to secure their homes.

Detective Inspector Sarah Pettengell of Great Yarmouth CID says opportunist burglars can take advantage if you leave a door or window open.

If you have any information regarding a burglary, contact Great Yarmouth CID on 0845 4564567 or Crimestoppers, anonymously if required, on 0800 555111.
