NORFOLK Police has issued a robust reminder to anyone planning to organise an illegal rave in the county over the coming weeks, re-iterating previous warnings that the force will adopt a zero tolerance approach.

Chief Superintendent Tony Cherington, who leads the county delivery unit, said the force had extra resources available to prevent, disrupt and close down illegal raves.

He said: “I want to re-iterate the message that these events are unsafe and disruptive to our local communities.

“We will continue to take a hard line against the people behind these events. We shall prosecute and seize and destroy the equipment of anyone found to be involved in their organisation.”

Members of the public are urged to play their part and support police action by remaining vigilant by reporting any suspicious activity which may lead them to believe a rave is being organised.

Anyone with information about an illegal rave or witness to suspicious activity on farmland or in buildings should contact Norfolk Constabulary on 0845 456 4567.
