Police have issued a warning for motorists after a number of motorcycles were stolen in Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.

The thefts have been carried out over the past three weeks and officers are urging motorists where possible to securely store motorcycles out of public view.

Norfolk police have published advice for motorcycle users to keep vehicles in a well-secured garage where possible, and if no garage is available, in a well-lit public area. Advice is also to lock them through an immovable object and to make the lock as hard to move when parked. The use of alarms, lighting and CCTV will also help to deter thieves.

It can take just a few seconds for a thief to steal a motorcycle. If you notice any suspicious activity, you should report it to the police on 101 or call 999 if you believe a crime is in progress.

Alternatively if you have information on thefts, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report a crime.
