POLICE patrols are being stepped-up in an area of Belton to address concerns over anti-social behaviour.

Officers from the Southern Villages Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) have increased patrols in Moorlands Way and Berry Close following reports from householders about noise and unruly behaviour.

Officers will visit residents to identify the main problems and high-visibility patrols will be carried out in both areas.

The issue was made a priority in the recent Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel (SNAP) meeting held on September 20 where other priorities agreed were:

Targeting reports of criminal damage and unruly behaviour at Burgh Castle village hall

Increase patrols around the new village hall in Hopton following concerns over the use of skateboards and scooters.

ROBBERS stole a 47-year-old man’s rucksack containing prescribed drugs and house keys after hitting him over the head in a Great Yarmouth alleyway.

The man received treatment for head injuries at James Paget University Hospital following the robbery in an alleyway between Walpole Road and Garfield Road between 9.10pm and 9.20pm on Monday.

Prior to the attack, a female engaged him in conversation before he was struck from behind and fell to the floor.
