POLICE have begun a crackdown on speeding motorists in the 20mph zone of Suffolk Road and Stafford Road in Southtown, Yarmouth.The operation by officers from the Cobholm and Southtown safer neighbourhood teams has been launched in response to concerns voiced by residents about speed in a heavily populated area which is home to Yarmouth College and Edward Worlledge and Southtown schools.

The operation by officers from the Cobholm and Southtown safer neighbourhood teams has been launched in response to concerns voiced by residents about speed in a heavily populated area which is home to Yarmouth College and Edward Worlledge and Southtown schools.
A police survey has found an average 15 drivers exceeding the speed limit each hour with the average speed being registered at 29.2 mph.
