A TEAM from Great Yarmouth police station completed a sponsored bike ride, starting and finishing at Norwich Cathedral, to raise nearly £1,160 for a charity that aids a school for the blind in Gambia.

Insp Nick Cheshire, Sgt Craig Miller, Sgt Dan Smith and his wife, PC Juliette Bringloe and Tim Amphlett raised the money to cover the cost of providing breakfast at the GOVI resource school for visually impaired.

Insp Cheshire, Sgt Miller and PC Bringloe opted for a 100-mile route while the others rode 50 miles.

The Friends of the school is run by former Yarmouth officer Phil Feller.
