NORFOLK police will hold a mobility scooter user awareness course at the Marina Centre in Great Yarmouth later this month. Opened by Yarmouth MP Tony Wright the event is the first of its kind held by the force organised after residents in north Yarmouth had raised concerns of the use of mobility scooters.
NORFOLK police will hold a mobility scooter user awareness course at the Marina Centre in Great Yarmouth later this month.
Opened by Yarmouth MP Tony Wright the event is the first of its kind held by the force organised after residents in north Yarmouth had raised concerns of the use of mobility scooters.
The course, on Saturday, March 28, will be held between 10am and 4pm and will offer a training session by road safety officer Bob Danes.
Mobility scooter users will be advised on safe driving habits, understanding legal issues, how to maintain mobility scooters, and get the chance to have an eye test. Users will be given crime prevention advice from Penny Carpenter, crime reduction officer.
Even exhibitors include Mobility Independence of Gorleston, East Coast Mobility of Lowestoft, Red Cross and Learnwithgo.
The event is open to all mobility scooter users and people considering purchasing a scooter. Anyone wanting to attend should call 01493 333342.
