FOLLOWING a six-week public consultation, the Post Office has announced its decision to reopen Bradwell Post Office at the Premier Convenience Store, in Church Lane - 400 yards away from the previous branch.

During the consultation customers were asked to raise any concerns they had over the proposed service provision at the new branch. The majority of comments received expressed a desire to see Post Office services returned to the area as soon as possible.

A Post Office spokesperson said: “The move will enable us to restore and safeguard Post Office services to our customers in the longer term. We are very aware of the importance a Post Office branch has in local communities although it has not been possible to reinstate the branch at its former site we are pleased with the appointment of a new agent.

“The date the service will open is currently been finalised and will be confirmed shortly.

“The new service means customers will benefit from a new, modern, purpose built serving counter within a large convenience store and an open plan format offering retail services alongside Post Office products and services.”

Opening times will be Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm and Saturday 9am to 12.30pm. There are off road parking facilities available outside the new branch.
