Visiting auctioneers is giving local people the chance to have collectables valued free of charge.

Warwick and Warwick Ltd, who have been trading for over 50 years, are holding a valuation day on Tuesday, 9am to 1pm at the Imperial Hotel, Great Yarmouth, to give advice on possiblt selling collectable items.

The company specialises in coins, banknotes, stamps, medals, militaria, postcards, cigarette cards, die cast toys and model railways.

A spokesman said: “We have been to this area many times before and have always been delighted with the response. Many people do not realise they have possessions of value, especially postcard collections, where the black and white real photographic views, are well collected and very popular at auction.

“Military medals and militaria are also often more valuable than people imagine, always attracting strong bids on sale days.

“Coin collections are also fetching high prices at present.”

Home visits may be possible if the collection is particularly large or difficult to transport.
