Two members of staff from Lathams of Potter Heigham, part of the QD Stores Group, are to feature in the retailer's brand new TV advertisement.

Mel Wilson and Sarah Saliba took part in filming after the fast expanding retail group concluded that no-one was better placed, or more able to match the genuine enthusiasm of its own team in promoting QD's core brand values, than the staff themselves.

It therefore decided to hold internal auditions for the commercial which resulted in Mel and Sarah both being selected to appear.

The commercial was directed by Andy Devonshire, who has worked on a number of popular TV shows including Top Gear, Comic Relief and The Apprentice, and produced by“Commercial Breaks, a company which works closely with ITV in Norwich.

Whilst the sheer numbers and media hype may be the exclusive domain of X-Factor auditions, QD's search for its own screen stars was greeted with equal excitement when the idea was announced to staff.

Hopefuls were required to undergo a rigorous screen test, as well as carrying out a role play, to determine which candidates were the most natural and telegenic in front of the camera.
