A charity performance of a holiday resort’s Christmas show has raised more than £7,000 for local causes.

Potters Resort hosted a sell-out special performance of its Christmas Spectacular on Sunday, December 4, in front of about 700 people.

Proceeds from the tickets and sales of a souvenir programme raised £7,301 for the Potters Friends Foundation, which was set up in memory of Brian Potter MBE.

The cash will now be distributed to causes in the community.

John Potter, managing director of the resort, said: “Already this year, our guests and team have helped us raise tens of thousands for the Potters Friends Foundation supporting local good causes, and we are very proud of this effort and of course grateful to all those that have helped.

“Our large production shows are usually held every evening exclusively for our resident guests and non-residents attending the Black Rock Grill, so this one-off Christmas Sunday matinée show was a great opportunity for locals to see the show and celebrate the festivities with us, whilst supporting local good causes at the same time.

“One hundred per cent of the ticket money has been donated to the Potters Friends Foundation, set-up in memory of my late father, so that we can support many more great causes in our local community, continuing his wonderful legacy.”

Work on the Christmas show began after Easter.
