Plans to expand one of Norfolk's leading leisure resorts by building a shooting range, restaurant and new car parking spaces look set to be approved on Tuesday.

The five star Potters Leisure Resort at Hopton, near Yarmouth wants to set up an indoor shooting range in a new single storey building and upgrade existing accommodation facilities, including a new restaurant.

Resort owner Brian Potter also wants to create an extra 85 car parking spaces by the Coast Road site to ensure it can continue to host top sports events such as the World Indoor Bowls Championship and provide rooms for more low season trippers.

Yarmouth Borough Council's development control committee is due to discuss the plans on Tuesday night.

Planning officers have recommended the scheme be approved on the grounds that it fits in with the authority's planning policies.
