DOZENS of children in Great Yarmouth will soon be jumping for joy after achieving 100pc support from parents in Haven Holidays' new Fun and Fitness scheme.

The scheme was launched by Haven, which has four holiday parks in the area, to provide free sports equipment for playgroups and nurseries.

Fun and Fitness is operated via the website www.havenfunfitness.com and, after playgroups and nurseries have registered, children's parents are asked to show their support by logging on as well.

Those pre-school groups that achieve full support from parents - no purchase or voucher collection is necessary -- are entitled to claim an extra bonus item in addition to the large box of sports equipment that will be provided under the pioneering scheme.

And the most popular bonus item among playgroups and nurseries in the area is mini trampolines.

More than a dozen pre-school groups in the area have registered to take part but Haven says some schools will miss out. The deadline for registration expires next week.

Deliveries of the big boxes of equipment are due to start in the next few days. Each box has been Quality Assured and the items have been carefully chosen to meet a whole range of sport and exercise requirements for pre-schools.

Among the items are a large floor parachute, a soft ring toss set, a pack of bean bags, circular throw-downs, a big beach ball, ribbon balls with slow-throw trailers, soft foam flyers and skipping ropes.
