A pregnant woman assaulted her boyfriend after he got a text from another woman during a night out in Great Yarmouth.

Layla Witham, of Norwich Road, Stowmarket, pleaded guilty to one charge of assault on September 16 when she appeared at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The pair had been travelling in a friend’s car after theirs broke down earlier in the night, when police stopped the car to speak to the driver.

James Hartley, defending, said: “She got very frustrated about a message from another woman and accepts she acted strongly when she kicked out at him.”

“He told police it was just her hormones and he wants to support her and continue their life together.

“As soon as she was released they were back together.”

The 22-year-old was fined £60 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 and court costs of £40.
