Extra police officers will be deployed across Norfolk this weekend, to deal with any potential World Cup related incidents.
Superintendent Roger Wiltshire has confirmed that a Public Order Unit will be working across Norfolk, to deal with any negative behaviour that might arise.
Suppt. Wiltshire, who is head of Yarmouth Police, said: “So far the World Cup has been a very positive experience for the police. The public has enjoyed it and everyone has behaved themselves.
“So far there have been no World Cup related incidents.”
Suppt. Wiltshire would not reveal the exact number of officers which would be working across the county, and continued: “There will be teams working across the county, who can deal with incidents, and if a more major incident occurs more can be called to that location.”
