RACING drivers swapped the track for the high sea's today to get behind the wheel of Britain's fastest lifeboat.The motor aces joined the crew of Caister Lifeboat for a training exercise ahead of Sunday's British Touring Car Championship race at Snetterton.
RACING drivers swapped the track for the high sea's today to get behind the wheel of Britain's fastest lifeboat.
The motor aces joined the crew of Caister Lifeboat for a training exercise ahead of Sunday's British Touring Car Championship race at Snetterton.
Mat Jackson, Tom Chilton and James Nash were looking forward to riding the waves on the Bernard Matthews II, which has a top speed of 40 knots.
James said: “I would love to drive the boat and it would be pretty cool if we could rescue someone.”
Lifeboat chairman Paul Garrod added: “I hope the guys have their sea legs, this is a different ball game to motor racing.”
