Forget high speed show-downs and mud churning chases - a Great Yarmouth High School student has proved it's his paintbrushes that have power steering.

For year eight student Glen McDonald has left the rest trailing in the exciting world of motor sport by winning a competition to have his art work put on the Welsh rally car.

He was one of three entries from the school and managed to win first prize.

All entries were asked to link their design to the idea of recyling and eco friendly materials as the new car was to be built along these lines.

The top prize was to have their design put onto the Welsh rally car, spend the weekend at a top hotel in Cardiff and see the car paraded in the Millennium Stadium.

A spokesman said: “Glen had an amazing time with his family in Cardiff and the school is proud to have such a talented pupil at the school.”
