Today is the day 5,000 people will make their big screen debut as Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle shoots a rooftop concert scene on Gorleston beach.
Within a day of the casting call being made last month almost 7,500 people had applied for a ticket.
While there are only 5,000 spaces available, tickets have been oversubscribed to allow for no-shows, so entry for ticket-holders will be granted on a first come first serve basis.
For those not lucky enough to get a place on the beach, Gorleston’s famous clifftops should provide the ideal vantage point from which to watch the action unfold below with an ice cream.
The town’s thriving high street also offers visitors a diversity of independent and chain shops and eateries, as well as the new Palace Cinema.
Further down the high street, the Priory Gardens offer a peaceful retreat for anybody looking to get away from the crowds and the Hollywood buzz in the town.
And if a long day on the beach leaves you feeling parched, then milkshakes shop Bellyboos, could be just the ticket, having moved to a new larger site on the high street.
The majority of ticket-holders travelling from outside the town have park and ride tickets and should report to Bluebell Meadow in Bradwell.
However, for those travelling by public transport, buses X1 and X11 run to the town from the direction of Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.
Alternatively, visitors can catch the train to Great Yarmouth and then catch one of the following buses: 1, 1a, 1b, 5, 6, 6b, 7, 8, 9, 881, 882.
