A 13-year-old Martham boy is to represent Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre at Britain's first National Junior Sea Life Conference.Ricky Froud answered an appeal to find a local delegate with a letter telling centre staff about his passion for sharks and horror of the grisly “shark finning” trade.

A 13-year-old Martham boy is to represent Great Yarmouth's Sea Life Centre at Britain's first National Junior Sea Life Conference.

Ricky Froud answered an appeal to find a local delegate with a letter telling centre staff about his passion for sharks and horror of the grisly “shark finning” trade.

Ricky will now work with Sea Life marine expert Darren Gook to put a presentation together for the conference at Birmingham's Hilton Hotel on July 15 and 16.

And Ricky became the first official signatory of a new Sea Life network conservation petition.

He will be joined by nine other young delegates from around the UK, meeting up at the National Sea Life Centre, Birmingham, for a tour before attending a special conference dinner. Special guests will include representatives of wildlife and conservation charities and, all being well, a celebrity TV wildlife presenter.
