The owners of a missing dog which was last seen by the beach at Winterton nearly two months ago have issued a desperate plea for information about a couple who may have him.

Rio, a pointer, went missing on March 18 leading to a search involving a drone and plane flying overhead, two volunteer searches and the involvement of Dog Lost website.

His owners are French and were on holiday at the time.

MORE: have you seen Rio?

The latest development has seen a report made on May 6 that a woman from Norwich phoned to say she was sure she had seen Rio in a white Volvo V50 Estate with a couple and child at Sea Palling.

Despite intensive coverage on social media the couple have not been identified.

Lyn Lutner, owner of Rio, said: “We live everyday hoping there might be some good news, and then another day passes and nothing.” Anyone with information can call 01692 651771 or 0776 6665684.
