Road to remain closed overnight

A LANE in Hopton will remain closed until tomorrow after reports of suspicious activity in the area last night .

Police sealed off a lane next to the A12 between Hopton and Lowestoft after officers were called to the scene at 11.

A LANE in Hopton will remain closed until tomorrow after reports of suspicious activity in the area last night .

Police sealed off a lane next to the A12 between Hopton and Lowestoft after officers were called to the scene at 11.30pm last night.

A helicopter was used to search the vicinity.

The Old Yarmouth Road in Hopton has also been closed off while police conduct their enquiries.

Police spokesman John Smith said that so far nothing suspicious had been found during the search.

The road is expected to reopen tomorrow morning.
