A stolen car that evaded police has been seized thanks to some “old fashioned policing”.
The black Volkswagen was reported stolen in Surrey and at around 8.40am this morning police constable, Callum Walchester, spotted it on patrol on the A47 in Lowestoft.
While turning around in traffic the car evaded PC Walchester, who subsequently chose to trust his gut instinct and drive in the direction of Great Yarmouth - where he believed the vehicle would be heading.
This “old fashioned policing” was vindicated at around 9.30am, when PC Walchester spotted the car on the A47 Gorleston bypass.
Once again, the driver appeared to take evasive action, sharply turning into Harfreys Industrial Estate.
The car was then stopped by a roads policing unit with the assistance of officers from Great Yarmouth police.
The car has been recovered and Surrey police are investigating the driver.
