A NEW state-of-the-art pharmacy department at James Paget Hospital was opened with a little help from some of the pharmacy's robots.

The two robots “Dot” and “Dash” will be helping to dispense medicines, look after stock control and cut down on waste by monitoring expiry dates.

Children at Martham Primary School named the robots, which joined Waveney MP Bob Blizzard at the opening on Tuesday .

Mr Blizzard said: “Medicines are so important to our health. This modernised, robot assisted pharmacy department will now be able to deliver a more efficient service for our local community. It's a great idea to involve local youngsters in the naming of the new robots.”
