A MIX of top flight acrobatics, breathtaking balancing and non-stop comedy will be keeping the crowds entertained but all in a good cause when the Circus Starr arrives in Great Yarmouth on October 23.

The show at Yarmouth Racecourse aims to raise both smiles and money for the Palliative Care East Appeal through such acts as the hilarious Duo Delbosq whose infectious style of physical comedy knows no boundaries of language or age when it comes to pure entertainment.

The outstanding Argentinean Gaucho, as featured on the Paul O'Grady Show, will be appearing along with the famed Bolas Dance of Courage set to wow any audience.

Circus Starr occupies a unique position in British circus by raising thousands of pounds for local charities with the advance sales of show tickets to local businesses. The donations from those sales go towards specialised equipment for hospitals and hospices.

Since proudly taking to the road 22 years ago, Circus Starr has raised more than 2m for local charities.

There will be two circus shows at 4.45pm and 7pm.

And there are even more events planned to raise money.

A “Hats, Handbags and Heels” event will be taking place on September 20 at the Hatfield Hotel in Lowestoft starring the Red Hatters and S Factor winner Lilly Ayres. Tickets for the event starting at 7pm are 6 including tea, coffee and biscuits.

On Friday, October 9, there will be a Moonlite Walk on Lowestoft seafront starting from the Hotel Victoria from 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Fancy dress is optional and entry costs 5. There will be bacon rolls, tea and coffee along with a raffle and cabaret. For tickets and sponsorship forms phone Gwen on 01502 572051.

On October 18, artist Martin Sexton will be demonstrating and painting during a lunch in the Celebration Suite at the Burrage Centre at James Paget University Hospital, starting at 12.30pm for the 1pm lunch. The cost is 20 per person for two courses with tea and coffee.
