POLICE have renewed their appeals for witnesses following an armed robbery at Rollesby Post Office yesterday morning. TWO men wearing balaclavas, armed with what is believed to be sledgehammers, smashed glass and broke into the premise shortly before 9.

POLICE have renewed their appeals for witnesses following an armed robbery at Rollesby Post Office yesterday morning.

TWO men wearing balaclavas, armed with what is believed to be sledgehammers, smashed glass and broke into the premise shortly before 9.15am.

No one was threatened or injured and there were no customers in the shop at the time.

The men left with a quantity of cash and made off in a silver car.

It was later recovered by police in Hemsby and is currently undergoing forensic examination.

Three men aged 22, 26 and 29, were arrested in connection with the incident and remain in custody at Great Yarmouth police station helping police with their enquiries

A 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl were arrested on suspicion perverting the cause of justice and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
