Braving the weather, a group of members of Rollesby and District WI last week gathered by the bus shelter to celebrate the placing of a bench. The out-going President Pam Mayhew cut a ribbon to signify the bench officially in use near the shelter on the Main Road between School Close and Court Road, and the Parish Clerk Annette Collins accepted the new facility on behalf of the village. Pam thanked Sandy and Robin Brook for their help in storing the bench in their back garden and moving it to its present position for the official unveiling. The members who had braved the cold and damp were rewarded with a glass of Bucks Fizz to toast the occasion. It is hoped people waiting for the bus will use the seat instead of the edge of the nearby planter. The current planter is a replacement for a previous planter - which was broken by people sitting on its edge.
