Royal wedding not shown on Great Yarmouth screens

THE big screens on Great Yarmouth seafront will not be showing tomorrow’s Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Neither of the two screens- at Sealife Gardens and Anchor Gardens- will be showing live coverage due to technical problems.

One of the screens is not working, while a third screen that used to stand in Market Place has not returned since being taken away five years ago to be repaired after a power surge put it out of action.

Further problems were caused by an insurer’s decision not to pay out for the �200,000 screen, which was dogged by problems after Yarmouth Borough Council was forced to carry out quick risk assessments to meet a deadline for �16m of InteGreat funding to be spent.
