IN just three hours, 78 animals of all shapes and sizes were fitted with micro-chips at an RSPCA session which raised 742.50 towards helping animals across the borough. The event was held at the charity's Tarworks Road branch.
A spokesman said: “It was hectic but the animals were extremely well-behaved with just a few odd sessions of dogs barking. We would like to thank all the responsible owners who brought along their much loved pets.”
Once an animal has been microchipped - the size of a grain of rice - it has its own unique code number that permanently links it to its owner.
