A woman from Great Yarmouth has kicked off an endurance challenge surely arduous enough to burn off a lifetime’s worth of Easter indulgence.
Karen Peck set off from the Sea Life centre in Marine Parade on Monday morning on the first of the seven ultra marathons she aims to complete this week.
The route is taken from the Round Norfolk Relay course and will take her all over the county, with each stage of the challenging ranging from 27 to 31 miles in length.
Ms Peck is taking on the monumental run in aid of the Royal Institute of Blind People.
She said: “I have run the Norfolk relay course 13 times with Great Yarmouth Road Runners and since running ultra marathons have always thought about completing the whole 198 mile route.”
Active Clinic in Southtown Road have assisted Ms Peck by providing sports massages.
