CHILDREN from across Great Yarmouth will launch the British Swimming and Amateur Swimming Association's (ASA) Get Safe For Summer campaign tomorrow with the help of ex-Olympic swimmer James Hickman and former Norwich City footballer Jeremy Goss.
Nearly 140 children from nine schools will be the first to take part in the initiative, an educational and water safety campaign being run with the Royal Life Saving Society.
It aims to teach children about the dangers of open water, as well as highlighting that swimming is the only sport that can save your life.
The ASA has chosen Yarmouth's Marina Centre for the launch because of its prime location on the seafront. It will be an action-packed day in the water, featuring a display by Caister lifeboat.
Children will have the chance to snorkel to a treasure island, try their hand at mini-polo and take a boat
trip complete with a capsize.
