Canon Irene Knowles will lead the worship and the celebration will start with a procession from South Beach Parade to the monument led by Winterton Marine Cadet band.
Great Yarmouth's Heritage Guide, Dona Watson, will be proposing a toast to the immortal memory of Admiral Nelson. Rum punch will be available for participants to join in the toast.
“This the fourth and final year the celebration will be funded by a National Lottery grant,” explained the council's member services manager, Robin Hodds. “But it's future is secure as it will become part of the borough council's civic events list.”
The Monument, also known as the Norfolk Naval Pillar, stands at 144ft tall and is only slightly shorter than its counterpart in London. It has 217 steps leading to breathtaking views out to sea and across the Borough of Great Yarmouth.
It was built in 1819 to commemorate Nelson's death at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. At the time the South Denes was an empty sand spit and the monument stood right in the centre of it.
