STUDENTS have had Samba fun learning Brazilian dance routines when the Hippodrome Circus Brazilian Romero family visited Great Yarmouth College.
The trainee bricklayers, plumbers, electricians and carpenters have also been exploring how today's youth street language has its roots in black culture in workshops at Great Yarmouth College to celebrate Black History Month.
The event, led by Norwich-based Young Urbanites' director Junior Johnson, is part of a diverse programme of awareness events at the college to mark the month.
Other sessions include making pots, masks and sculpture with Tony Ogogo from Heritage Ceramics and creating tie dye fabrics and batik.
Hair and beauty students enjoyed a session with Eva Bogdalska, a make up artist from the London School of Beauty and Make Up, to learn about black skin care and cosmetics.
On Monday Junior Johnson, director of Young Urbanites, delivered “Blinglish and Beyond” workshops dealing with the influence of black youth culture on white youth culture.
