Children have helped bring some festive excitement to old folk in Gorleston.
Youngsters from the Little Explorers Nursery baked biscuits and shared them with tenants at St Augustine’s, a housing with care complex.
Manager Mandy Mills said there was nothing better than seeing the faces of children light up at Christmas - especially when Santa made a surprise appearance.
For many it was a chance to reconnect with memories of having their own young children at Christmas and involve them in the celebrations.
Mrs Mills said: “The young children mix really well with the older people. The playgroup brought a parachute and the tenants were moving it around, it was lovely.
“Christmas is all about children so it helps the tenants. They feel like its just another day so it is nice for them to see the children.
“One of our gentlemen was crying because he loves children so much.
“He said it reminded him of when his own children were young.”

It has a long running relationship with the nursery and understands the benefits for both the old and young of spending time together.
Channel 4’s Old People’s Home for Four Years Olds shone the TV spotlight on what happens when generations separated by multiple decades are made to mingle - something that has been going on at St Augustine’s for some time.
