The 10 pupils from Alderman Swindell School squeezed into the emergency helicopter and met its crew based at Norwich International airport as a prize for having 100pc attendance during the autumn term.
Although 95.5pc of pupils had perfect attendance in that period, the 10 lucky youngsters' names were pulled out a hat to be given the chance to discover the aerial machine's role in fighting crime.
The whirlybird visit was organised as part of series of measures introduced in 2003 to improve Alderman Swindell's poor performance of only having 92pc of its pupils attaining 100pc attendance.
Each pupil is given an Always Here on Time logbook with a print-out of their attendance to show their parents. Prizes and rewards for perfect record are handed out every term.
As a result the school now surpasses its 100pc attendance target of 94pc and was praised as outstanding by Ofsted last July.
The helicopter trip prize was organised by PCSO Lucy Jane-Shreeve who regularly visits the school on her beat.
