Science week at Stalham Infants

Children at Stalham Infants have enjoyed a week focusing on science. Scientist Lucy Foulston from the John Innes Centre, introduced Science Week with an assembly and helped the children carry out their own experiments, growing microbes that live in soil for observation under microscopes.

Children at Stalham Infants have enjoyed a week focusing on science. Scientist Lucy Foulston from the John Innes Centre, introduced Science Week with an assembly and helped the children carry out their own experiments, growing microbes that live in soil for observation under microscopes. Children also used microscopes to study the minute detail of plants and insects. They conducted experiments to see how slope angles and different road surfaces affected the speed of toy cars, learned about the planets in our solar system and experimented modelling the impact of meteorites on a planets surface - measuring and recording crater sizes. There was a competition to design and construct the strongest bag choosing from a selection of different materials and much more.
