Great Yarmouth and Gorleston Lifeboat Station is 250 better off thanks to the efforts of Cub Scouts.
As part of their community challenge badge the Second Gorleston Mary Magdalen Cub Scouts asked family and friends to sponsor them in a fancy dress competition.
The group visited the station last Monday to hand over the cheque.
Lifeboat spokesman Rob Carroll, said: “We were surprised at this kind and unexpected donation from the Second Gorleston Mary Magdalen Cub Scouts, and we hope they enjoyed seeing the boats and station. We are extremely grateful for the donation, and have as yet, not decided what the money will be spent on, but it will certainly be spent on something that will be put to good use, for the whole station.”
