The heron is one of a pair which have lived on The Waterways in North Drive for some time, much to the delight of surprised passers by who often think the birds are statues as they stand so still waiting to catch fish in the waters. Then when they do move, it causes lots of oohs and aahs and gasps of joy.

Yarmouth man Paul Webb captured this shot this afternoon on his Sony a550 digital SLR camera. An offshore worker, Paul is a keen amateur photographer but also finds time to salsa dance and play bass in a band now and again.
