WORK is set to get underway on Great Yarmouth's Marine Parade to make sure it is in good repair for the summer season.
Difficult ground conditions put particular strain on raised pedestrian crossing points, which have been showing wear and tear from traffic and the winter weather.
Norfolk County Council is carrying out work on the crossing tables and granite setts.
The work will include a trial of a different surface finish on one crossing to see if it lasts longer.
Road resurfacing will begin on Monday, May 17 between Euston Road (Hollywood Cinema) and St Peter's Road roundabout.
This stretch has been showing signs of premature wear, accelerated in places by the harsh winter weather. The contractor is paying for the re-surfacing.
