The search for missing woman Carol Smalley will continue until it gets dark later today.

Searches have taken place in the Hopton area for the 55-year-old, who was last seen on Wednesday and is from Lincolnshire.

Tomorrow morning the police will evaluate the situation regarding carrying out further searches.

She had been staying at a local hotel and had holidayed in the Hopton area when she was younger.

Her clothes and a bag were found on a beach leading to the sea.

Lifeboat crews from Great Yarmouth and Gorleston and Lowestoft and Coastgaurd teams from Lowestoft, Southwold and Gorleston are taking part as well as a Lowland Search and Rescue team. One fire engine also helped with the search.
