Two dolphins in as many days have been found dead on South Beach in Great Yarmouth.
The second was found near the rollercoaster at the Pleasure Beach at around 1.45pm today (Sunday).
Gorleston Coastguard attended to a dead dolphin on the same beach on Saturday morning at around 9am.
The coastguard identified the species as a Risso dolphin and took measurements and recorded details on behalf of the National History Museum (NHM), which compiles the information as part of its conservation programme.
The NHM will determine the cause of death of both animals as part of the Cetacean Strandings Investigation Programme and the first carcass is due to be collected on Monday.
The coastguard had received reports on Friday that a pod of dolphins was spotted off the Great Yarmouth coast.
The public have been urged to report encounters with dolphins, whales, porpoises and sturgeon to their relevant coastguard.
These species are known as Royal fish and the NHM aims to amass as much information on their populations as possible.
