THE public is invited to attend a memorial service in memory of victims of the Holocaust.

Reverend Chris Terry will be leading a service and wreath laying ceremony at Blackfriars Road Jewish Cemetery, Great Yarmouth tomorrow (Sunday) at 11am to mark Holocaust Memorial Day.

Since 1999 communities have remembered the estimated 1.5m people who perished in Auschwitz and its satellite camps during the second world war.

The Mayor, councillor Colleen Walker, will lay a wreath on behalf of the borough council.

For those who prefer to pay their respects in private the Jewish cemeteries in Caister, Blackfriars and Kitchener Road will be open from 7am-5pm.
