POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary from a garden shed in Beccles Road, Gorleston. Intruders forced two padlocks on the shed stealing items including a Dyson vacuum cleaner, a Stihl saw and hedge trimmer and a Raleigh racing bike.

POLICE are appealing for information following a burglary from a garden shed in Beccles Road, Gorleston.

Intruders forced two padlocks on the shed stealing items including a Dyson vacuum cleaner, a Stihl saw and hedge trimmer and a Raleigh racing bike.

The theft took place between 6.30pm on Sunday, March 21, and 7.30am the following day.

The bike is white, with black and red forks and has Raleigh written in black on the frame.

Officers are urging shed owners to be vigilant and ensure that outbuildings are installed with adequate safety devices.

Crime prevention advice includes

Don't neglect the hinge and use security screws or bolts through fixings.

Fit good quality mortice locks or padlocks a third up and third down to reduce leverage.

Secure the windows with a weld mesh or a crime shield product from the inside.

Fit a security light and shed alarm.

Use padlocks and chains to secure high value items including power tools, lawnmowers and cycles to an anchor.

Security mark property with your house number and post code.
