A JOINT civic carol service hosted by high sheriff of Norfolk, Robert Carter and mayor Tony Smith is to set be a truly fantastic Christmas occasion for Great Yarmouth.
More than 300 people have already confirmed their attendance at the service on Monday, December 14 at St Nicholas Church.
An official procession, which includes Father Christmas and his sleigh, will leave the Town Hall for the short walk to the church.
Cllr Smith said: “It's going to be a very special service this year. However, to make it even better I would like local scouts, cubs, guides, brownies and cadets to join the procession.
“All they need to do is to bring their torches and be at the Town Hall for 6.15pm ready to leave at 6.30pm.
“We want everyone to be part of the evening and a signer will be there for those who are deaf or hard of hearing

The service is a joint effort by a number of local organisations. Great Yarmouth College students will be decorating the church and the Salvation Army ensemble band playing during the service.
It is hoped that the church will be completely full for this magical event. For further information, contact mayoral and civic events officer Laura Goodman on 01493 846512.
