HAIR and beauty students at Great Yarmouth College put their creative skills to the test against the clock in its annual hair and beauty competition.

Eighty hairdressing and 40 beauty students competed to come up with the most imaginative, exotic and eye-catching styles using innovative styling techniques and make up.

Their themes were fantasy, avant garde and decades, and one trophy was donated by Gorleston hair salon Fusion in memory of Dominic Burt, a hairdressing student at the college killed last June in a motorcycle accident.

The day after the event, which took place last week, young apprentices on the 14-16 schools programme took part in their own competition at the college.
