Snow at weekend

With their noses pressed against windows, delighted children watched icy winds chasing great flakes of snow across the borough on Friday night.But as Saturday morning shivered awake, snowman building at these swings at Gorleston's Beacon Park would have been out of the question with the remaining icy crust barely deep enough to leave a decent footprint.

With their noses pressed against windows, delighted children watched icy winds chasing great flakes of snow across the borough on Friday night.

But as Saturday morning shivered awake, snowman building at these swings at Gorleston's Beacon Park would have been out of the question with the remaining icy crust barely deep enough to leave a decent footprint.

The snow soon disappeared but pavements and roads remained icy for some time over the weekend.

And it seems as though it could be some time before we see any more, with the weather becoming more settled and fine for this weekend.

Forecaster with Norwich-based WeatherQuest Emma Coombs said: “It was a very exclusive event.

“It was remnants of what they saw up north and just clipped East Anglia.
