Mothers and grandmothers of pupils at Filby Primary School were treated to a special assembly to celebrate Mothering Sunday. Children had created Mothering Sunday cards and paintings and each child, even the shyest, had the opportunity to show these during the assembly to thunderous applause.

Mothers and grandmothers of pupils at Filby Primary School were treated to a special assembly to celebrate Mothering Sunday. Children had created Mothering Sunday cards and paintings and each child, even the shyest, had the opportunity to show these during the assembly to thunderous applause. There was not a dry eye in the house as pupils from the youngest to the oldest took turns to share with all how much they loved their mums and why each of their mums is so very special. A few older pupils performed a short play and Reverend Graham led the prayer and reflection. This celebratory assembly was brought to a close as the children raised the roof singing songs all about mothers.
