Children due to spend Christmas in the James Paget University Hospital, Gorleston, had a special delivery last week.

Seven delivery drivers with the firms Argos and DHL bought a variety of board and computer games for the children’s ward patients, using money they had been given as an award by Charter Mark for the quality of work during the last year. Rather than treating themselves with the cash they decided to spend it on a shopping spree at Argos, and the games were presented to the children on December 22. Play specialist Marie Cross said: “We are very grateful to the seven drivers who have been extremely generous. The games and toys will help brighten up Christmas for those children who have to spend time in hospital. I would like to thank the drivers for this wonderful gesture and for thinking of the children at the James Paget University Hospital. They will be thrilled to receive an extra gift.”

The children’s ward offers treatment, care and support for youngsters with a variety of conditions.
