YOUNGSTERS booked into a special event at Alderman Swindell Infant School recently - a special week based on story bears in honour of Paddington's 50th birthday.
In fact Book Week, which finished last Friday, was much more than Paddington though. It started with a visit from The Children's Book Centre and included live theatre from The Booster Cushion Theatre Company and a book swap. Peter Cawley, the children's librarian from Great Yarmouth library visited to read stories and asked the children to vote for their favourite book in the library's annual poll. The week ended with the children going to school dressed as a story bear or a character from a story about bears.
Headteacher Alison Hopley said: “We had a fantastic response from some very creative families.”
