POLICE stopped 94 vehicles as part of a clampdown on speeding in the Bradwell area.

Officers from the village’s Safer Neighbourhood Team checked the speed of more than 2000 vehicles during the two day operation last Friday and Saturday.

The Bradwell Speed initiative is part of ongoing work by the SNT in response to concerns about speeding throughout the area. Currently a priority for the team, it aims to educate drivers as well as enforce the law.

The two day clampdown focussed on eight problem roads and involved a high visibility police presence, speed checks, roadside checks and speed awareness patrols.

As a result one motorist was reported for court summons and six fixed penalty notices were issued for speeding.

A further 65 motorists were given words or advice for speeding and two reported for no insurance.

PCSO Mark Brown said: “Operations such as this not only help to reassure members of the public but also help to highlight local speed restrictions to motorists and the consequences of exceeding them.” Contact: Bradwell on SNT 0845 456 4567 or email sntbradwell@norfolk.pnn.police.uk.
