ORGANISERS of a campaign to smarten up Great Yarmouth Station are hoping to give it a spring clean before the start of the holiday season.
Talks are currently taking place with the station operator National Express East Anglia to arrange a date for the clean up day.
The Fix Great Yarmouth team is led by businessman Spencer McCormack and the town's prospective Conservative parliamentary candidate Brandon Lewis.
A number of businesses have expressed an interest in helping to brighten up the station including Asda, Vauxhall Holiday Park and SPP Digital and the campaign has been backed by more than 3,000 people through social networking site Facebook, an online petition and in writing.
Mr Lewis: “I have recently met with the teams at both county and borough council and I am pleased that they will now be working together to put a strong and united case to the Department of Transport to ensure that improvements to the station are part of the new franchise bid.”
